They not only show you what is happening behind you, but are also an indispensable detail for the individual look of your bike. But which mirrors are permitted, which variants are available and what should you pay attention to when fitting them?

Handlebar mirrors: the tried and tested all-rounder

Handlebar mirrors are attached directly to the handlebars above the grips and are suitable for almost all older motorbike or moped models. They offer a stable, low-vibration view and can be flexibly folded in or swivelled on many models.

Handlebar end mirrors: slim, sporty and modern

As the name suggests, these mirrors are attached to the outer end of the handlebars. This ensures a particularly clean, minimalist design. Despite their compact design, they can also be folded in or swivelled if required.

Integrated and aerodynamic fairing mirrors

Fairing mirrors are built directly into the fairing of your motorbike or moped. They not only offer safety, but also emphasise the lines of your bike, giving it a rounded look - perfect for anyone who wants to combine form and function.

According to the StVZO, motorbikes must have two suitable mirrors to ensure adequate rear visibility. For mopeds and mopeds, however, one mirror is sufficient.

As long as your mirror has a valid E-mark (EU standard), you do not need to have it approved by the TÜV.

The installation of motorbike and moped mirrors is generally not particularly complicated and is usually carried out using clamps, threads or a special bracket.

What is important is the subsequent fine adjustment after installation: always align your mirror so that you can see both the road and a small part of your bike - without turning your head. This way you avoid blind spots and have a perfect view of the traffic around you.
