busch+müller originals
Since the company was founded in 1925 and the first cat's eye manufactured, busch+müller has always been the source of particularly good ideas. Sophisticated, trend-setting ideas that set new standards in the market and became true originals in bicycle lighting. Ideas that have shaped what is taken for granted today.
These are our busch+müller originals. We are particularly proud of these products. Because they are not only milestones of innovation for us, but also convinced the most demanding cyclists and manufacturers.
With these originals, we have set completely new standards to this day:
Toplight
The first rear light for the rack with approval.
A simple but very practical invention. The first rear light of its kind for the rack with integrated Z-shaped large-area reflector for optimum visibility in traffic.
Lumotec
Our first headlight – and an original one at that.
The Lumotec shaped the lighting market with its contours, innovative housing and pioneering light output.
Secutec
The first stationary rear light.
Bicycle lights with dynamos have one disadvantage: they remain dark when stationary. With the invention of the stationary light, we made a significant contribution to bicycle safety, which is still used today in all standard rear lights and, in some cases, in headlights.
Lumotec Oval
The first LED headlight approved for use in Germany.
LED technology opened up many new possibilities in bicycle lighting. As a driver of innovation, we were the first to launch a headlight with light-emitting diodes and road approval on the German market.
Lumotec Fly
The first daytime running light in a headlight.
Our idea for a daytime running light in a bicycle headlight proved so successful that there is now even a technical requirement (TA) for it in Germany. In other words, this TA must be met in order for a product to receive StVZO approval.
BrakeTec
A rear light with a brake light function.
This is something that has never been seen before: a bicycle rear light that illuminates when the rider suddenly slows down – all controlled by the change in frequency of the dynamo current.
IQ-X
First LED headlight with 100 lux.
With the high-end IQ-X headlight, we reached the 100 lux mark for the first time. We owe this high illuminance to a newly developed lighting technology that simultaneously ensures broad, wide and homogeneous large-area illumination of the road, whereas in Germany “only” 10 lux is required.
Close-range illumination
Crucial brightness at close range.
With close-range illumination, the illuminated area for headlights begins just 1 metre in front of the bicycle. This makes it possible to react to small bumps or obstacles directly in front of the front wheel, even at night. The concept and technology originate from our think tank and are now standard in the industry.
Toplight Line Brex
Brake light with emergency brake light function.
As an extension to the tried-and-tested brake light, we developed an emergency brake light function that lights up and flashes more intensely during particularly heavy braking manoeuvres, thereby warning following traffic. This invention was also incorporated into a German regulation (TA) and is now standard in the world of cycling.
LEVAL
The curve light assistant for e-bikes.
Our contribution to the era of e-bikes for greater safety and riding comfort: the practical curve light adapter is compatible with many front headlights and ensures perfectly illuminated roads in every curve.
TURNTEC
The indicator for your bicycle.
No more hand signals needed: with TURNTEC, you can indicate changes in direction at the touch of a button without having to take your hands off the handlebars. An innovation that makes cycling more comfortable and safer.
Briq-XL
Digital and analogue curve lighting in the headlamp.
Our headlights with integrated curve lighting are a real novelty on the market – worldwide. With impressive illumination and intelligent behaviour in curves, they ensure significantly increased safety when driving at night. The headlight's various functions, such as low beam, high beam, curve lighting and daytime running lights with sensor function, can be controlled via an app and adapted to the respective driving situation.
