Core 2, the new re-chargeable headlight by busch+müller carries a name that sounds very familiar to premium bicycle light aficionados. Core, the German lighting specialists‘ popular and award-winning bestseller gets a powerful successor with Core 2. The silver stainless steel look and the all-round shock protection retain the most reliable aspects of the predecessor – and yet the dynamically updated shape of Core 2 is looking towards the future.
Core 2’s novel light technology widely and evenly illuminates the road with 70 Lux. Above all, however, its beam range is exemplary. Fast-moving cyclists are visibly better on the move – all the while being glare-free for oncoming traffic. Core 2 opens up a dimension of light field quality that could previously only be found at least two price classes above this.
In addition to the basic model, the Core 2 Highbeam will be released, offering genuine high beam light in a re-chargeable headlight. Just like the proven e-bike high beam headlights by busch+müller, the light field opens upwards and turns night into day. An integrated aluminium heatsink in combination with an intelligent control unit offers the temperature regulation necessary at this powerful level of light output.
High beam light is operated safely and user friendly, directly on the handlebar, by using the ergonomic bluetooth control unit Blucon. (The button is mounted either by using a flexible tension band or, more permanently, using an aluminium clamp. On this clamp, the button can be swivel adjusted.)
In the highest of three light levels, Core 2 shines for 2.5 hours and subsequently dims into a lower mode for another 2.5 hours to guarantee a safe journey home. In the lowest light level, the headlight shines with approximately 15 Lux for more than 18 hours. Blue LEDS clearly indicate the current light level at all times as well as the remaining battery charge.
The optional fast charging power supply completely charges Core 2 via USB-C in only 1.5 hours. Two rapid button presses activate slower charging for a longer and more sustainable battery life. Therefore, the headlight is “friendly“ and in accordance with busch+müller’s responsibility concept of the same name. Also, the lithium battery is replaceable as called for by latest regulations.
In the end, a practical question: Not enough free space on the handlebar? busch+müller has thought of that as well. An adaptor suitable for hanging mounting underneath the handlebar is available separately.
