Available, finally: From now on, “non-motorised” cyclists can ride with a light quality that has been reserved exclusively to e-bikes for years. With the IQ-XL Highbeam, busch+müller presents a genuine dynamo-powered high beam headlight.
For the longest time, this was a technical impossibility when it came to 3 W dynamos. From where was the necessary additional energy supposed to originate? One special ability of the IQ-XL Highbeam is that it makes the most out of the dynamo’s limited output. Innovative electronics always generate the highest possible light level and adapt to all cycling speeds for a continually excellent light experience. In addition to that, the headlight contains a high-performance capacitor that supports high beam light.
What does this look like in practice? At only 15 km/h, low beam light shines with an impressive 150 Lux. When cycling just a little faster, the output reaches up to 300 Lux. Activating high beam mode via handlebar button is possible from 10 km/h onwards.
This secondary light field, high beam light, is directed upwards, opens up the light/dark boundary and turns the cyclists‘ night into day – a brand-new feeling of riding safety. Just like low beam light, high beam light works adaptively: It shines brighter the faster one rides. At higher velocities with up to 250 Lux in addition to regular riding light.
Safety first – that’s why the IQ-XL Highbeam leaves nobody stranded in the dark. If insufficient energy for high beam light is available due to slowly cycling for a sustained period of time, high beam light deactivates automatically. Low beam light is always available.
Classy look: Its matt black anodized aluminium casing harmonises with modern handlebar surfaces.
Real comfort: IQ-XL Highbeam is equipped with a specially developed, very robust fork mounting bracket made of solid aluminium. Because this durable bracket (496HA) is perfectly suited for all headlights, it is available separately as well.
